The intellectual property work is an important component of foreign trade work in Chengdu. Strengthening of management and protection of intellectual property rights relating to foreign trade plays a very important role in promoting healthy and orderly development of foreign trade. Chengdu emphasizes not only on protection of the domestic intellectual property, but also on protection of foreign intellectual property. During the course of introducing Intel Corporation, one of the world top 500 enterprises, we showed that Chengdu had attached great importance on the protection of intellectual property rights, and the practices of Chengdu judicial organs to protect the intellectual property rights in the recent years, and also emphasized that Chengdu would committed to protect the intellectual property rights of Intel Corporation; if any

infringement activity infringing the intellectual property rights of Intel Corporation, the intellectual property rights of Intel Corporation will be sufficiently protected in a rapid, transparent and fair ways. On the quarterly symposium of foreign investment enterprises, main municipal leaders will lead persons in charge of relevant departments to attend the meeting, earnestly hear opinions of representatives from foreign-funded enterprise, and emphasize to enhance protection of intellectual property rights and fight against counterfeit and false products. Chengdu administrative and management departments of foreign economy and trade visited and investigated those foreign capital enterprises, learned about the protection situations of intellectual property rights, and they, in real earnest, assisted relevant departments to fulfill the responsibilities of protecting intellectual property rights of enterprises, thus the rights and interests of foreign-funded enterprise has been effectively protected and a “Zero” complaint in intellectual property rights from foreign investment enterprises was realized in 2004.
