Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone

Located in Longquanyi District, 13.6 kilometers away in the eastern part of Chengdu, with an total planned area of 26 square kilometers, it is the only one state-level economic and technological development zone ratified by the State Council. This zone lies in the
key area of Chengdu eastward development. According to Chengdu General Planning for
Development approved by the State Council in June 1999, it will be built as the biggest scientific and technological typed and foreign oriented industrial base as well as the ecological typed new urban area.
Since its founding, the infrastructure investment has amounted to RMB 1.5 billion with shaped scale of foundation facilities and municipal service supporting facilities in terms of roadway, telecommunication, water, electricity and gas as well as the conditions for modern large-sized industry constructions within the zone. At present, more than 500 projects from over 20 countries and regions are under construction in the zone, and the industrial structure dominated by the industries of machinery, electronics, new-type materials, pharmaceutics and food processing has been come into shape.
